MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION

Not interested in the time and costs associated with resolving your problems in court? There are times when it is possible to resolve your problems without filing a lawsuit. The Law Offices of Carl E. Combs offers affordable mediation and arbitration services.

Mediation

Carl E. Combs is a certified member of the Superior Court of California, County of Stanislaus and San Joaquin Mediation Panels. He has conducted mediation services for parties in Stanislaus, Merced, San Joaquin, Tuolumne, and Alameda Counties. He is a graduate of the Pepperdine School of Law, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.

An effective mediation can resolve disputes quickly and reduce the parties litigation costs, deposition fees, and court filing expenses. Effective mediation may also expedite a fair resolution to the matter and save the parties years of waiting until the case is decided by a jury trial or judge. The mediation process helps the Plaintiff and Defendant to identify what each feels the dispute is about, what it is worth, and mutually agree to a fair settlement of the matter.

Unless otherwise stipulated in writing, the mediation shall be confidential. Mr. Combs is also willing to travel to your location to conduct the mediation service. You need not be represented by an attorney to schedule a mediation with Mr. Combs.

Please contact our office directly to learn more about how mediation can help you or to schedule a mediation.

Arbitration

An effective arbitrator will successfully and effectively resolve cases before the parties become embroiled in costly, protracted litigation.

Arbitration enhances communication between the parties about their claims and evidence, provides an assessment of the merits of the case by the neutral expert, and provides a reality check for the parties. The process helps to identify and clarify central issues in dispute, and assists with discovery and motion planning or with an informal exchange of key information, and also facilitates settlement discussions, especially when requested by the parties.

All parties and at least one attorney for each represented party must participate in the arbitration hearing. One may participate in the arbitration without being represented by an attorney.

Please contact our office directly to learn more about arbitration or to schedule an arbitration hearing.
